Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer consultations and cake tastings?
I offer consultations for everyone that books with me. This also includes a cake tasting for orders over £350, where you can try 3-4 of my most popular flavours. If you have not booked with me yet, I would be more than happy to arrange a consulation. I charge a small fee of £20 and this is deducted from your final bill if you do go ahead and book with me. Consulations are held at my home in Wantage. They usually last approximately 45-60 minutes.
  • How do I place an order?
In order to secure your booking I ask for a £100 deposit payable by bank transfer. Once this is paid, your wedding date is confirmed and the remaining balance is then due up to 28 days before your big day.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
I currently accept payment by bank transfer or cheque
  • Do you deliver and set up the wedding cake?
Yes! I deliver and set up all my cakes. Delivery is included at no extra charge within 10 miles of OX12. For deliveries further afield, the delivery cost depends on your venue and I'll discuss this when putting together your quote.
  • Do you offer cake stand hire?
Yes, I have a wide range of cake stands available for hire and the options can be discussed during a consultation. I charge between £20 and £30 for stand hire and these need to returned within 3 days of your wedding. A safety deposit is required and this is refunded when you return the stand.
  • How far in advance do I need to arrange my cake?
I take bookings up to 18 months in advance. You can always reserve your date with me by paying a £50 deposit and then we can work on all the finer details nearer the time. During busy periods (summer and weekends) I do get booked up quite far in advance so it's best to book early to avoid disappointment.
  • How much does a wedding cake cost?
The cost of a wedding cake really depends on the size of the cake, the level of detail and work involved. Please take a look at my starting prices for a rough idea.
  • Can I use fresh flowers on my wedding cake?
Yes you can! Usually I will liaise with your florist who will supply the flowers for your cake to ensure they match with your overall theme. The cost of any fresh flowers is not included in my quotes.
  • Do you bake everything yourself?
Yes, I bake every cake fresh in my own kitchen, which has been certified with a 5 star hygiene rating by South Oxfordshire District Council. I also make all my own sugar flowers, decorations, ganaches, fillings and curds.
  • Do you make celebration cakes?
No I'm afraid I don't, I only make wedding cakes and corporate cake orders.
